Iโm writing this during a time of reflection. Iโve come to understand that taking care of my mental health is not just self-care, itโs soul care. Just as the Bible says, โDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mindโ (Romans 12:2), I am learning to be intentional about the thoughts I allow to stay, the emotions I choose to carry, and the truth I declare over myself.
There was a time I separated my emotional struggles from my faith, thinking prayer was enough to silence my anxiety. But the more I learn, the more I see that faith and mental health are not enemies, they are companions. Jesus withdrew often to quiet places (Luke 5:16). He rested, He wept, He felt deeply. And yet, He was never ruled by those emotions, He brought them before the Father.
Now, Iโm learning to do the same. Iโm learning that itโs okay to admit when Iโm overwhelmed, but itโs not okay to stay in that place without calling on Godโs help. โCast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for youโ (1 Peter 5:7) is not just a verse, itโs an invitation to breathe deeply, to release, and to trust.
In this season, Iโm integrating rest, prayer, boundaries, therapy, and journaling as part of my mental wellness routine. Just like we donโt neglect our physical or financial health, we shouldnโt ignore the health of our minds.
Letโs begin this journey of mental renewal, not by our own strength, but by the Spirit of God working in us. May we guard our minds, protect our peace, and walk boldly into each new day clothed in grace.
Youโre not alone. Letโs aim for peace, and success.
